Lincoln Police were called to Union Bank at 68th and O Street around noon on Thursday, April 22nd to investigate a possible fraud. The teller told officers a man had come into the bank wanting to cash a $2,000 check saying it was a payroll check from a Lincoln business. The owner of the bank account was contacted and denied the man was an employee or that a check had been issued to him.
When officers arrived they identified 48 year old timothy Fantroy Sr. of Omaha and learned that he had an outstanding warrant for contempt of court and taken into custody.
Officers then learned FanTroy had also been at the Union Bank at 3643 S 48th Street about 20 minutes earlier. He cashed a check for just under $2,000 that appeared to be from the same business. Officers looked at video evidence from that bank that confirmed Fantroy was responsible for cashing a fraudulent check there.
Fantroy was booked for 2 counts of 2nd degree forgery.
