A Lincoln man is facing attempted arson charges after police say he threatened to burn down a house after an argument just before midnight Saturday.

Officers were called to the home in the 2500 block of Theresa for a disturbance.   A 20-year-old woman told officers that her boyfriend, 21-year-old Kevin Avila, threatened to burn down their home following an argument.

The woman told them that Avila started spraying lighter fluid throughout the house.   Officers contacted Avila who had an injury to his head unrelated to this incident.  Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called to treat the head injury.  Officers also observed an empty bottle of lighter fluid and lighter fluid sprayed throughout the home.

After Avila was medically cleared, he was arrested for Attempted 1st Degree Arson.
