A 19-year-old man is accused of vandalizing three LPD cruisers early Tuesday morning, including one that an officer was sitting in.
Officer Erin Spilker says around 6:00 a.m. an officer was in a cruiser on the west side of the Hall of Justice and heard a loud banging sound. The officer got out and heard the man yelling and Spilker says he had a large piece of metal that he dropped on the ground
“In total three cruisers sustained damage, such as scratches and dents,” Spilker says. They arrested the man on two counts of misdemeanor criminal mischief.
Spilker said it’s not known if he was specifically targeting police or if the vandalism was random.
