How To Make The Most Out Of Any Concert

By DJ Wyatt Apr 9, 2025 | 10:44 AM

Concerts can be some of the best memories someone can make! They can range with artists who rarely perform to those who perform year-round. The venues can be anywhere from someone’s basement to world renowned venues. Either way, concerts are a great way to see someone’s favorite artists live!

I always love a good concert. Over the years, i’ve attended everything from basement shows to major festivals. Whether it’s Hip Hop, Country or EDM, I love a good live performance.

Recently, I purchased a ticket to my dream concert happening out at Red Rocks in Colorado in October. As i’m preparing to make the venture for this performance, i’d thought i’d share some tips that have helped me navigate these events and make the most out of each concert.

PLAN AHEAD

When it comes to planning a night out at a concert, a game plan can make or break the whole event. I always like to plan out everything from when i’m arriving, where I want to stand if it’s general admission, who i’m going with and sometimes even what merch I want to buy if I have the funds for it. If I’m ever travelling to a concert, I try to make my bookings months in advance to get the best deals possible. I love to go with friends, so I make sure to communicate ahead of time with who I want to go with and how we want to navigate everything.

PREPARE

Once everything is planned, it’s time to prepare. I always like to get food and drinks outside of the venue to help save money. If i’m consuming adult beverages, I like to get a good meal in me before an event so the beverages don’t hinder me later.

When the event is over, I like to have things prepared for afterwards. Whether it’s water, aspirin, alka seltzer, some sort of shared rides or anything else, I make sure to have that ready for when the event is over.

DAY OF THE EVENT

The day has finally arrived! When it is a general admissions event, I like to arrive as early as possible and make sure I have enough time to where I am not rushing into the venue. Once I have a good place in line, I can take my time and relax until the event starts. A little water and some snacks in line never hurt.

CELL PHONES

Phones have become a great way to cherish these memories forever, but they have become out of hand at some concerts. I always make sure to have my phone sufficiently charged before I head to the event. When it comes to videoing the concert, I like to take 1 video of the artist walking out, 1 of my favorite song and maybe 1 or 2 extra videos. Once I capture those moments, I put my phone away to enjoy the concert.

ENJOY THE EVENT!

Take in the moment and enjoy the event! Whether you found out about it at the last minute or have been planning for months, you’ve earned the right to be there and witness and incredible act and enjoy a wonderful time!

Hopefully these tips can help you out as you plan for your next concert. Remember to plan, prepare and have fun!
