Over the years, the famous Coachella Music Festival has transformed from an indie arts and music festival to a playground for influencers and celebrities. This year, it may have reached its limit of absurdness.
Most of the attendees of the festival choose to tough out the elements and camp on the campgrounds. While some choose to glamp it out and bring their own portable showers, some attendants will opt for showering on the campground’s showers.
A video has surfaced of a long line for the showers at the festival. People were waiting for over an hour for the showers around 8 am. The line is for their “Super Duper Showers” that are open from 7am – 2pm and cost $10. Those showers are located next to the free, smaller, showers which did not have any lines, according to another video on TikTok.
Coachella has become a major stepping stone for major musical acts and has helped launched the careers of superstars. Over the years, the lineups seem to have shifted from rising stars to acts that will draw clicks on the internet, which has been a turnoff for many attendees. This year, week one has had a mixed review. Some performances that stood out were Yo Gabba Gabba, T-pain and Lady Gaga while some acts like Charli XCX seemed to fall short of the mark.
The festivals decline in quality and rise in prices has caused fans to stay away from the festival and stay in the comfort of their own homes and watch the free livestream of the festival on Youtube.
