Nebraska baseball was shutout by Kansas, 4-0, Tuesday at Hawks Field.
Tommy Barth got the Jayhawks (32-10) on the board with a two-run single in the second inning. The score stayed 2-0 until the seventh, when Brady Ballinger came through with a two-out RBI double. Kansas tacked on a run in the ninth to push the lead to four.
Six Jayhawks pitchers scattered seven hits through nine shutout innings. The starter, Thaniel Trumper (4-0), threw two shutout innings to earn the win.
Nebraska’s (19-22) starter, Tucker Timmerman (0-1), took the loss, allowing two runs in two innings. Max Buettenback was the leader in the Husker lineup, hitting 2-for-4 with a double.
