Six people escaped after their home caught on fire around 8:15 last night near S. Folsom and W. Old Cheney. “Crews found a kitchen fire that was spreading to the cupboards above,” says LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman.
She says crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames and kept it contained to the one unit in a row of eight condos. Lierman says grease from a pan on the stove sparked the fire. It caused about $10,000 in damage
The one adult and five children were relocated by the Red Cross.
