A 50-year-old Lincoln man tried to take matters into his own hands after three men demanded his wallet as he walked on the MoPac Trail near 70th and ‘P’ Streets around 10:00 Wednesday night. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says the victim told police three men suddenly appeared and approached him.
“The victim says he used pepper spray on one man and punched two of them before getting knocked to the ground,” Thomas says. “He said the men kicked him multiple times while he was on the ground before leaving.”
The trio did not take any of the man’s personal belongings. He drove himself to the hospital where he was treated for abrasions and a dislocated elbow. The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information or who may have seen something to call LPD at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600 to remain anonymous.
