48 states and five countries will be represented at this weekend’s 48th annual Lincoln Marathon and Half-Marathon. One one of the runners in the 13.1 mile half is LPD Investigator Jason Drager. He will be making the run in full uniform as he raises money for the Lincoln Chapter of the First Responders Foundation.
“The foundation’s mission is to serve and honor all of our first responders, veterans and their families and to build appreciation for the work we do while enhancing public safety through education and support,” Drager says.
He says every dollar raised by his run will go directly toward programs and resources that benefit the Lincoln Police Department and the community. Friends and loved ones are pledging donations for every mile he completes and Drager guarantees he will run all 13.1 of them.
He completed the 3.1 mile Tunnel to Towers Lincoln 5K run in August 2024 and now is adding 10 miles to his goal. His wife Jessica is also an LPD Investigator. She and and their three boys will be there to cheer him on this Sunday.
There will be 7,000 runners in the two races, which will begin at 14th and Vine at 6:55 a.m. The race will finish at Stadium Drive and T Street.
