Lincoln Police say a 56-year-old man is facing charges after they say he threatened his Uber driver with a knife early Thursday morning. Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says just before 1:30 a.m. officers were sent to the area of NW 12th and W. Adams Street.
“Officers met the victim, a 34-year-old Omaha man, in a hotel parking lot where he told officers he is an Uber driver and had picked up a passenger in Gretna,” Thomas tells KLIN News. “When
they arrived in Lincoln, he said the passenger pulled a folding pocket knife on him, threatened him and cursed at him.”
Thomas says the victim told officers the suspect got out of the vehicle and went inside the hotel. “He was not there, but officers contacted him coming out of a room from the hotel next door.”
Officers took Chad Fetherston into custody and found a knife in his pocket. He was booked for terroristic threats and using a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
