Zipline Reopens Original Brewery Taproom After Two-Year Hiatus

This weekend, Zipline Brewing Company will host the grand reopening of it’s original Brewery Taproom in west Lincoln after a two-year hiatus to make room for brewery expansion.

The project initially wasn’t slated to take as long, according to the company’s new President Mark Lawson, but the April 2024 opening of the their Tap & Grill in Fallbrook and the leadership change later in October pushed back reopening day.

“It was a lot to do at one time, a little bigger bite than we probably anticipated,” Lawson told KLIN News.

But, he believes regulars will like the refreshed space at 2100 Magnum Circle,  renovated with a mix of original features and new cozy updates.

“The vibe is completely different. We like to think of it… imagine if you could sit on your patio, but climate controlled,” he described it. Technically smaller, but more comfortable and connected to the Taproom’s space.

While the space is different, patrons will recognize Zipline’s signature brews like Ziplite (a riff on Michelob Ultra from Anheuser-Busch), Green Label IPA, and their award-winning altbier Copper Alt — and if your lucky, you may get to sample experimental small-batch specials.

Zipline is a Lincoln native, founded in 2012. With the taproom reopen, Zipline’s is back to operating three locations in Lincoln, in addition to the main production brewery. Their third location is the Zipline Beer Lounge located near 56th and Pine Lake Road.

The Taproom held it’s soft opening back in mid-April, but the official grand reopening will run May 2-4, featuring live music and special guests Friday night.

Zipline isn’t done growing, says Lawson.

“Oh, we’re never stopping. We’re always looking. We’re obviously still looking at getting back [to Omaha]… but I don’t think we’re done looking in Lincoln as well,” he told KLIN News. Zipline closed it’s Omaha location at South 203rd Street in April 2024.

“We’re a Lincoln brewery and we’re proud to be from Lincoln.”
