Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects in two separate cases. One involves an attempted burglary at a northwest Lincoln daycare, and the other involves graffiti artist who’s been sights multiple times around the Nebraska State Capitol building.
The first case occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at a daycare near 46th and West Huntington Avenue.
Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says cameras at a daycare captured a man on camera carrying a bag and walking around the property.
An employee arrived to work the next day and noticed a back door had been attempted to be pried open, and a deadbolt damaged.
The individual, believed to be a male wearing gloves and covering his face with clothing, is currently unidentified. Photos and video are available below.
The second case occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, around the Nebraska State Capitol building, near 14th and “K” Street.
Keller says the individual seen here was captured on camera vandalizing four different signs and light poles around the Capitol Building.
When a security guard from the Capitol came out to contact him, he ran off headed southbound. He used a white and blue Sharpie marker to write what appears to be his tag ‘C-I-I-G’ on the objects.
The suspect was described as a white male with a beard, Carhartt hoodie and Vans style shoes.
Video and photos are available below.
