The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says a 61-year-old man was killed in a head-on crash Monday afternoon near 162 and ‘O’ Street between Lincoln and Eagle.   LSO says based on the initial investigation a 2007 Ford Focus driven by Thomas Heath was traveling eastbound on O Street when he drifted into the westbound lane.

His car then collided with a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 32-year-old Lincoln man.  Heath was transported to a Lincoln hospital where he later died of his injuries.  The other driver was  treated at the scene for minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and LSO says neither alcohol nor drug use are suspected factors.

LSO was assisted by Eagle Fire and Rescue, the Nebraska State Patrol and the Nebraska Department of Transportation with the crash.
