An investigation is underway after fire broke out at the Parkview Apartments near 9th and Adams just after 9:00 Tuesday morning. “The caller stated there was flames possibly on the second floor,” says Battalion Chief Jim Bopp.
“Engine 3 arrived first and they did have smoke and got the second floor and found some flames.” Bopp says many of the residents were able to evacuate on their own and crews helped a few evacuate that needed help.
Bopp says it appears the fire was isolated to the hallway. No one was hurt. LFR now believes the fire was deliberately set and an arson investigation is underway.
