Lincoln Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects in two separate cases. One involves a pair of apartment complex car thieves, the other involves a man repeatedly trespassing on the porch of a home in west Lincoln.
The first case occurred around 4:15 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2025, at the parking garage of an apartment complex near S. 48th and Yankee Hill Road.
The victim in this case told police he woke around 6:30 a.m. to text alerts regarding his credit cards being used, according to LPD Video Forensics Technician Becky Keller. Knowing he left his wallet in his vehicle, he went to the parking garage to find the vehicle missing.
A couple details of this case are puzzling investigators, like how someone could have gotten into the secure building or how they were able to start the car since victim reported having both sets of keys.
The complex provided security video of the garage to LPD. The vehicle, a 2017 white BMW sedan, was recovered just 5 hours later in the area of NW 43rd and West Thatcher Lane in Airpark. It was processed for fingerprints and evidence, and is now back in the possession of the owner.
Police are asking the community to provide any known information about that night or who was driving the car.
Video and photos are available below.
The second case occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at a home near NW. 22nd and W. “Q” Street.
Keller says a younger female called to report ongoing issues with an older male who has been seen on her porch multiple timeschecking door handles and taking items from her porch. She said on this particular day, he took a random ash try that was sitting near her front door.
She was home when it happened so she went outside to confront him at which time he threw the ash tray and took off. Police would like to know who he is, what he’s doing at this residence, and hopefully put a stop to this behavior.
