Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews responded to a house fire near 30th and Vine around 4:45 Friday morning. Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says when crews arrived they didn’t see smoke or flames initially.
“They went around the back and there was a second floor apartment that had flames extending on the outside to the roof line.” Lierman says crews were able to quickly put the flames out. She says it appears the fire started on the deck, but the cause is not yet known.
Four residents were evacuated and had to be relocated. Damage is estimated at $75,000 to the building and $10,000 to contents of the apartments.
