Lincoln Police have arrested one person for a weekend shooting that injured a man and woman in north Lincoln.  Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says 55-year-old Donald Handy of Lincoln was booked into the Lancaster County Jail for two counts of being an accessory to a felony and the search for the shooter continues.

“Investigators determined Handy arrived at the home in the area of 26th and Potter streets before the shooting happened around 10:30 Saturday morning,” Thomas says.  “One individual at the
house said he needed a ride and Handy agreed to provided one.”

Thomas says Handy told officers he later heard gunshots and a scream but did not witness the shooting.  Handy then left the house and got into his vehicle with two individuals, drove them away from the scene and made several stops over the next hour.

“One individual then got out of the vehicle and Handy continued to drive the other around for several more hours.”  The two victims were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The man was life-flighted to an Omaha hospital in Omaha for further treatment.  As of Monday morning they both remained in critical condition.
