Lincoln Police are looking for two people who ran from the scene of a three vehicle crash near the Lincoln Children’s Zoo Monday afternoon. LPD and LFR responded to 26th and ‘A’ Street around 12:30 and found three vehicles that were totaled.
“It appears we had a white Chevy Impala southbound on 26th Street,” says Sergeant Craig Price. “Witnesses say it was traveling at a high rate of speed and blew the stop sign and collided with a westbound van.”
Price says during that collision an SUV was hit and rolled onto it’s side. They are still trying to determine which direction it was traveling. Several firefighters worked to extricate the woman from the wreckage.
“She was conscious and alert, fairly high spirits,” Price says. She was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Price says the driver and passenger got out and ran away from the scene. Given the extent of the wreckage, Price says one or both could be injured.
