LFR crews battled a fire at a home near 70th and Old Cheney Saturday evening. Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says crews arrived around 6:45 they found a grill on fire that had spread to the outside of house.
Lierman says the fire was caused by a loose-fitting connection on the propane tank. The fire quickly spread to the house, but crews were able to prevent it from getting inside the house. Lierman says there is heavy smoke damage inside the house.
Damage is estimated at $70,000 for the home and $20,000 for the contents. No injuries were reported.
