A day after 2nd District Congressman Don Bacon announced he would not seek re-election in 2026, Omaha City Council Vice President Brinker Harding says he will bee seeking Bacon’s seat.  “I’m running for Congress to make America more like its Heartland,” Hardin says.

The Republican is Omaha born and raised and since 2017, Harding  has served on the City Council.  Harding outline four key campaign pillars: Restore America, Grow America, Secure America, and Renew America.

Harding says he wants to stop reckless spending that fuels inflation and threatens Social Security and Medicare.  A campaign official says Harding also wants to cut taxes for working families and small businesses and “finish the wall and enforce immigration laws.”

Harding is also pledging to reignite faith in the American Dream for the next generation and expand access to good-paying jobs, homeownership, and opportunity.
