Lincoln Police have arrested a 37-year-old woman in connection with the shooting of a man outside the NP Mart last week.  Lucretia Bryson was taken to the Lancaster County Jail Friday morning and booked on assault, robbery and gun charges.

LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says  police were called to the store at 28th and ‘O’ Street around 2:15 a.m. for a man with a gunshot wound in a parking lot.  The 39-year-old Lincoln man was taken to the hospital for treatment of a serious injury to his upper left leg.

“During the investigation, police determined he was shot behind the convenience store in the parking lot where officers found a 9mm shell casing,” Thomas says.  “Surveillance video showed a white GMC Terrain approach the victim and a single muzzle flash was observed.”

Thomas says Bryson then got into the passenger seat of the vehicle and left the scene. Investigators learned Bryson demanded money from the victim while pointing the firearm at him before shooting him in the leg.

Thomas says on Tuesday investigators found Bryson and the SUV in the driveway of a home in the area of S. 19th and South streets.  “This morning just before 12:30 a.m. the LPD SWAT Team executed a search warrant at the residence.”

Thomas says Bryson failed to comply with commands and ran inside an attached garage before being taken into custody. “During the search, investigators located a fully loaded 9mm handgun in the garage that matched the ammunition at the shooting scene. They also found a second fully loaded 9mm handgun under the front passenger seat of the vehicle.”

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information can call LPD’s non-emergency number at 402-441-6000 or if you would like to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
