The National Weather Service says the first of two potential rounds of severe thunderstorms could arrive in Lincoln tonight. Meteorologist Katie Gross tells KLIN News the first wave could move through after 9:00 p.m. and through the early morning hours.
“The biggest threat with these storms are strong winds maybe up to 60 miles per hour. There could also be some hail maybe up to an inch in diameter.” Gross says another round of severe storms is possible for Thursday night, but there is some uncertainty right now.
“It kind of depends on how this stuff moves through tonight and if we get any daytime pop-up thunderstorms during the day tomorrow.” She tells KLIN News if those storms do develop they will bring strong winds, large hail and perhaps a tornado or two.”
