Luke Broderick became the second Husker to be drafted in the Major League Baseball draft, as the Colorado Rockies selected him in the 14th round with the 407th pick. He follows Mason McConnaughey, who was selected by the Rangers in the fourth round.
Broderick was a force out of the bullpen this season, notching 13 saves, tied for third-most in a season in Husker baseball history. He was 4-2 with a 3.25 ERA in 27 relief appearances. He threw 36 innings while striking out 43.
