The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is taking part in The ‘Speeding Prevention’ enforcement effort, a nationwide mobilization sponsored by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
The goal of the campaign is to reduce speed related fatalities. From July 14 through July 29 the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office will participate in the selective enforcement activity by increasing the number of deputies patrolling Lancaster County in marked cruisers.
The additional deputies working the selective enforcement will enforce all traffic violations and focus their efforts on speed related violations. Overtime for the additional deputies working during the mobilization will be paid through a mini grant funded by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
