Lincoln Police are searching for a man who walked away from a hit-and-run crash in a North Bottoms neighborhood around 5:00 Sunday evening. Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says it happened near 12th and New Hampshire.
Thomas says when police arrived, a man driving a Ford Escape got out of the vehicle and hopped into an orange Infiniti FX35 with in-transit papers before leaving the scene. The preliminary investigation determined the Escape failed to stop at a stop sign while driving north on N. 12th and collided with a Honda Civic, which was driving west on New Hampshire.”
Thomas says the 31-year-old male driver and 42-year-old male passenger in the Civic, both of Lincoln, were uninjured. The driver was cited for no valid driver’s license and no
proof of insurance.
The identity of the driver of the Escape is unknown and has not been located. Anyone with information about his identity or the whereabouts of the Infiniti are asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000.
