Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule, defensive back DeShon Singleton, quarterback Dylan Raiola and offensive lineman Henry Lutovsky represented Husker Football at the 2025 Big Ten Media Days in Las Vegas, Nev.

Rhule, whose teams have made big jumps in record at both Baylor and Temple, is excited about this year’s squad. “We like our football team,” Rhule said. “We like our football team a lot. We believe in the guys. It’s those four guys I mentioned. It’s all the guys back in Lincoln. We believe we can play with anybody.”

If the Huskers are to make a jump, they’ll have to fare better in close games. Nebraska is 2-10 under Rhule in games determined by one score, but the NU head coach sees Nebraska well-positioned to improve that mark.

” It’s a much different feeling when you walk in with a bunch of guys that now they know they’re good, and some of them, they’re the same players. They’re just good because they’re a year into the system. That 250-pound guy is now a 280-pound guy.”

Safety DeShon Singleton was one of three players to face the media Tuesday, and he’s looking to make an incremental improvement this season.

“Turning knockdowns into interceptions,” Singleton said. “Turning big hits into fumbles.”

Big Ten Media Days will continue the next two days in Las Vegas.
