Lincoln Police say 62-year-old Todd Pearson of Lincoln was the man killed after being struck by an Amtrak train early Monday morning near 33rd and Cornhusker. LPD’s Erika Thomas says investigators determined Pearson was biking south through the crossing when he was struck by the train.
The railroad crossing arms were down, the lights were flashing and the train sounded its horn. Pearson’s body was found in a ditch south of the tracks and his bike nearby. Amtrak says the train was traveling to San Francisco from Chicago at the time of the crash.
