Lincoln residents are invited to join in National Night Out celebrations on Tuesday, August 5, with free events designed to strengthen neighborhood bonds and foster police-community partnerships.
The city is hosting two community gatherings:
-
Air Park Community Center at Arnold Heights Pool (4000 NW 46th St.)
5 to 8 p.m. — Free swim night, yard games, free food, and Kona Ice, co-hosted with the NW 48th Neighborhoods Advisory Council. -
“F” Street Community Center (1225 “F” St.)
6 to 7:30 p.m. — Free burgers, bingo with teen prizes, and games for all ages.
Lincoln Parks and Recreation Director Maggie Stuckey-Ross encouraged residents to turn on porch lights and connect with neighbors, saying the event is meant to help families feel “safe and supported where they live.”
Lincoln Police Chief Michon Morrow added that the event helps build trust between officers and residents, noting that LPD will visit 10 to 15 neighborhood-led celebrations citywide.
