No. 1 Huskers hit floor for Red/White Scrimmage

The No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team hit the floor for public viewing for the first time for the annual Red/White Scrimmage. The Red squad won the first three sets, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22, before the White squad captured the fourth, 25-17. Senior Rebekah Allick set the pace with 12 kills for the Red squad in the first three sets, then tied for the team lead with four kills for the White squad in the final set.

Newcomers Virginia Adriano and Teraya Sigler both notched six kills for the Reds in the first three sets, while Andi Jackson and Skyler Pierce both tallied seven for the White squad. Freshman Campbell Flynn tallied 29 set assists for the Reds in the first three sets, while Bergen Reilly dished 32 set assists in the first three sets for the White.

The closest set was the third, in which there were 16 ties and four lead changes. The first two sets saw a combined 10 ties and four lead changes.

The Huskers return to the floor for the Alumni match Saturday at John Cook Arena. First serve is slated for 6 p.m., with pregame coverage beginning at 5 p.m. on KLIN and B-107.3.
