The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is joining law enforcement agencies nationwide in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, aimed at reducing the number of drunk and impaired drivers on roadways throughout the county.
LSO says enforcement efforts will include an increased number of deputies from August 16 through August 31. Deputies will focus on enforcing traffic laws and identifying impaired drivers to keep local roads safe.
The overtime for additional deputies assigned during this enforcement period is funded through a mini-grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
