For the first time in the Matt Rhule era, the Nebraska football team has named permanent captains for the 2025 season. Defensive back Marques Buford, Jr., wide receiver Dane Key, offensive lineman Henry Lutovsky, quarterback Dylan Raiola, defensive back DeShon Singleton and defensive back Ceyair Wright were named as captains for the 2025 season.
Rhule has often touted the greater ownership of the program that has been shown preparing for his third year at Nebraska, and the naming of season-long captains would seem to be another sign of that player leadership.
The Huskers continue preparations for their season opener in Kansas City on Thursday against Cincinnati. Pregame coverage begins at 4 p.m. with kickoff at 8 p.m. on KLIN and Froggy 98.
