Lincoln Police Investigate Two Monday Murders

Lincoln Police are investigating two murders that both occurred on Monday, June 13th.

The second murder happened at 8:27 p.m. at 14th and D Street.  Officers were called to the area and found 37-year old Jeremy Lane of Lincoln unresponsive and suffering from a stab wound.  Officers and Lincoln Fire and Rescue started CPR and utilized AED at the scene.  Lane was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:12 p.m.  This death is being investigated as a homicide.

The Lincoln Police Criminal Investigation Unit interviewed witnesses at the scene.  They also are reviewing digital evidence, including video and follow-up on investigative leads.  Officers report there was a physical altercation between Lane and another man before the assault with a knife.  An autopsy has been ordered by the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office.

Police continue to investigate the shooting death of 48-year-old Aldofo Aguado at 13th and Washington Street. Witnesses told police there was an argument and 21-year-old Aldofo Ortiz, the son of the victim, grabbed a gun and fired several shots. Aguado died at the scene Ortiz was found a few blocks away and was taken in for questioning. He was then booked on 2nd Degree murder charges. That investigation continues.
