The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department reports a 15th person has died from COVID-19 in Lincoln. The victim is a man in his 50’s who was hospitalized.
Fifty lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Lancaster County Wednesday bringing the community total to 2,945. Recoveries are up from 1,145 to 1.189. The overall positivity rate in Lancaster County remains at 6.8%. The state rate is 9.5% and the national rate is 9.3%.
Sixteen people are hospitalized with COVID-19, 10 from Lancaster County and six from other communities.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, repeated shaking with chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
The COVID-19 Risk Dial is at “Orange,” indicating a high risk of the virus spreading. Residents are advised to follow these recommendations to protect themselves and others:
- Stay home if possible.
- Stay at least six feet away from others.
- Wear face coverings.
- Wash hands frequently.
- Those at risk of complications from COVID-19 should continue to minimize close contact with others.
