Elon Musk announced Sunday that Twitter would be taking on a new name, and likeness.
“X” is now the public-facing operating name of the entity. When Musk took over in October 2022, he had already filed the company entity under “X Corp”, but has now moved to change all Twitter-related entities to “X”.
In his notes about the brand switch, he mentioned that he believed this change should have happened a while ago and that the purchase of Twitter was an “accelerant” for X, which is what this brand will become.
R.I.P. to our friend, Twitter.
