At 10 p.m. on August 31st, Lincoln Police stopped a white 2009 Buick Lucerne near 10th and High Street for having a headlight out with no license plates. When officers were talking to the driver, they discovered that he did not have a license.
Police also determined the vehicle had been stolen out of Columbus on August 25th. The driver, 28 year old Favian Meda was then arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. Police also searched inside and found a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue and other items of drug paraphernalia.
The officer contacted Columbus Police and the departments worked together to determine that Meda took the vehicle from a salon.
Meda was booked for felony theft by receiving, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police say this is a great example of different law enforcement agencies working together.
