The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department reports another resident has died from COVID-19. The victim is a woman in her 50’s who was hospitalized. She is the 21st COVID-19 related death in the county.
Test results delayed over at least the past four days due to technical difficulties are being reported today. Today’s report is not a spike in cases or a record high number of cases in a day. Many of these new cases would have been spread out and reported over the past four days. The combined count is 158 lab confirmed cases bringing the community total to 4,700. Ninety-two, or 58.2% of the 158 cases are in the 18 to 22 year-old age group.
Recoveries remain at 2,023. The Lancaster County positivity rate is up from 7.3% to 7.4%. The state rate remains at 9.5. The national rate is 8.6%.
There are 32 people hospitalized. Testing continues at Bryan Health, CHI Health St. Elizabeth and through Test Nebraska.
