An arrest is made in a case that involved shots fired at a vehicle on September 28th when leaving Walmart on 27th Street. They were being followed by a Honda sedan and a Ford Explorer. Someone in one of the vehicles pulled out gun and fired the shots, hitting the passenger rear window of the victim’s vehicle. A vehicle that matched the description of the Explorer was found and the occupants were interviewed.
Based on the interviews with the occupants and with the help of video surveillance of those seen near the Explorer, officers determined that 20 year old David Atem was in the vehicle and fired shots at the victims.
Atem was arrested on October 7th at approximately 3:50 p.m. in the 1700 block of South 6th Street without incident. Atem was booked for discharge of a weapon near a vehicle and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
