Two arrests are made in a home invention on October 24th at 3 p.m. at 15th and Knox Street. police say a 34 year old man was visiging a woman when another man kicked in the door and stabbed him in the face. The victim was taken to a hospital and will recover.
During the invitation, officers determined the woman, 30 year old Sarah Swallow knew the person responsible for the assault and had been in a dating relationship with him in the past. Officers determined that man to be 37 year old John Garnica. At the time of the assault, Swallow denied knowing the man several times while talking to officers. There is also evidence to suggest that swallow had contact with the man prior to the assault.
Swallow was contacted by police at her home on November 1st just before 2 p.m. When the officer was at the door, a man was seen sitting inside the home with Swallow but she told officers he was not the man responsible. and that another man she did not know was the suspect. Swallow was arrested at that time for Aid and Abet 2nd Degree Assault and for providing false information to an officer.
Swallow later identified Garnica as the man who stabbed the victim October 24th. Officers found Garnica at Swallow’s home on November 2nd around 7:30 a.m. and took him into custody on four outstanding warrants, 2nd degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, burglary and providing false information to an officer.
