Police were called to the 3200 block of S 10th Street after a newspaper carrier reported a disturbance while on a route. A man and a woman were delivering papers at 17th and Cheyenne around 5 a.m. Thursday. The man got out of a vehicle to deliver a paper and another man yelled at him asking what he was doing. The carrier stated he was delivering newspapers and the man approached him and the woman who was sitting in a vehicle.
The man asked if they had any cigarettes and then pulled out a knife and threatened to stab them. Both the man and the woman feared for their lives and the woman gave the man cigarettes and they drove off to call police.
Officers went to the scene and found 41 year old Daniel Brenneise sitting outside his residence smoking a cigarette. The victims positively identified Brenneise as the man who threatened them and he was taken into custody. A folding buck knife was found in his pocket. Brenneise was booked on two counts of terroristic threats and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
