The COVID-19 Risk Dial moved up into the mid-red or severe risk range of infection.
This COVID-19 Risk Dial provides a summary of current conditions in the Lincoln-Lancaster County community. Each color incorporates federal and national guidance published by public health experts and is coupled with specific guidance.
There are 90 new cases Friday bringing the community total to 10,545. The number of deaths remains at 50. Recoveries are up to 4,364. The Lancaster County positivity rate remains at 9.8%.
There are 100 people hospitalized with 44 from Lancaster County and 56 from other communities.
Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird today announced that her husband, Scott has been diagnosed with COVID-19. He is isolating at home. Mayor Gaylor Baird says she and her children are showing now symptoms.
With the increase in COVID-19 cases, Health Director Pat Lopez says people should minimize contact with others, limit all activities outside the home, wear masks and attend no gatherings. The goal is to flatten the curve and get out of the red category within 24 days.
The testing process begins with a free online risk assessment available at BryanHealth.com, CHIHealth.com or TestNebraska.com. Drive through test sites include:
- Bryan Health: Former Graham Tire Store, northeast corner of 19th and “O” streets.
- Test Nebraska: Gateway Mall, 6100 “O” St., northwest corner of the mall. Test Nebraska’s hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
- CHI Health St. Elizabeth: Autumn Ridge Family Medicine, 5000 North 26th St. and Southwest Family Health, 1240 Aries Drive. Call either site to schedule an appointment: Autumn Ridge at 402-435-5300 and South West Family at 402-420-1300.
