An arrest is made in a robbery on October 16th just before 5 p.m. at 27th and O Street. A 20 year old man had injuries to his face and head and stated he was at the home of a female acquaintance.   The woman asked him to go into a back bedroom at which time he was approached by a male who was wearing a mask and holding what he believed to be a handgun.  The male struck him with the gun and then racked the slide which put the victim in fear of his life.

At least one other person entered room and also assaulted him.  They demanded the contents of his pockets and the victim gave them his phone, wallet, and car keys.  The man then demanded the passcode to the victim’s phone.  The assailants including the female acquaintance then fled the scene. The victim was treated at a local area hospital for what are considered non-life threatening injuries.

The next day the victim noticed that there were eight unauthorized bank transactions totaling $1,500 to a CashApp account.  Investigators determined the account that the money was transferred to belonged to 19 year old  Taya Peterson. Peterson was also identified as the female acquaintance who arranged the meeting and fled with men who robbed the victim.

On November 6th at approximately 6:30 pm, Peterson was contacted in the 1700 block of Knox, taken into custody, and arrested for Robbery and an outstanding warrant for assault.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
