A second arrest has been made in the stabbing of a man at N 26th and W Street on November 5th. The 44 yea rold victim had been stabbed multiple times and was rushed to a hospital in serious condition.
The victim told police he was somewhat familiar with the suspects and only knew their first names. Witnesses also provided descriptions of the two suspects including what clothing they were wearing and directed officers to the suspect’s home.
On November 7th, a search warrant was served at Alonzo Green’s home and investigators found a clear bag with 1.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine in Green’s bedroom. At that time Green was taken into custody and arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Investigators also located the clothing worn by one of the assailants with what appeared to be blood stains on them.
Based on witness and victim statements and evidence located during the search warrant 29 year old Lorenzo Taylor was determined to be responsible for stabbing the victim.
Alonzo Green was also identified as the other participant in the assault as he struck the victim with his cane.
On November 8th just before 10pm, Taylor was taken into custody and arrested for 1st Degree Assault and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.
On November 9th just before 5pm, police contacted Green who was still in jail regarding the drug charge. He was arrested for Aid and Abet 1st Degree Assault (F).
