An arrest is made in the theft of $35,000 in spinal medical supply equipment left for a Fed Ex pickup on Monday. The man called police after the Fed Ex driver arrived for the pickup and the packages were missing. Officers located video surveillance from a neighbor that showed the packages were in the back of a red pickup.
On Wednesday, the owner of the vehicle called Lincoln Police and said that one of his associates had borrowed the truck on the date of the theft. Officers contacted 37 year old Christopher Merrick at his home at 15th and David Drive. Officers found the packages in the backyard.
Merrick had two outstanding, unrelated warrants for a suspended license and for possession of a controlled substance. Merrick was also booked for theft by receiving, a felony.
