An alert Lancaster County deputy saw a vehicle at 70th and Bluff around 11 p.m. on November 17th stopped at the intersection for an extended period of time. The vehicle was displaying fake license plates. The vehicle then used a turn signal but turned in the opposite direction. The deputy followed the car that eventually went into a ditch and hit a pole.
Police then made contact with 43 year old Jason Thurber who had several outstanding warrants and was suspended for canceling his insurance. At that time he was arrested. His history showed involvement with narcotics. . During a search of the vehicle methamphetamine and a scale was found inside the vehicle.
Thurber was cited for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, flight to avoid arrest and several other traffic charges.
