CHI Health is taking steps to take the pressure off hospital Emergency Rooms across the state.
The first step is expanding their Virtual Quick Care Chat option. That will no be available from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. statewide. this chat serves as a triage service for COVID-19 patients who may not know what level of care they need. They can speak to a provider about their symptoms online. The patient then can be sent to a Priority Care facility for symptoms like cough, body aches, sore throat or other flu-like symptoms. The patient then may be sent to an Emergency Room if they are suffering from shortness of breath, breathing issues or more severe COVID-19 symptoms.
CHI Health will be closing their Quick Cares located at Hy-Vee stores across the state. Staff there will be deployed to priority care clinics or to hospital emergency rooms if needed. This will help free-up staff during this critical pandemic time.
CHI Health Priority Care hours will be expanding at six Omaha metro areas at 42nd and L, Bellevue, La Vista, Valley view, 161st and Maple and in Millard. Their goal is to take extra pressure away from already crowded Emergency Rooms. They will not expand hours at their two Priority Care facilities in Lincoln.
