5 COVID-19 Deaths Thursday, 230 New Confirmed Cases

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department reports five more residents have died from COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths in Lancaster County to 90.  The individuals were a man in his 60s, a woman in her 70s and a woman in her 80s who were hospitalized, and a man and a woman in their 90s who were in long-term care facilities.

There are 230 new confirmed cases today bringing the community total to 17,683. Recoveries are up from 5,273 to 5,317.  The weekly positivity rate from November 22th through the 29th was 29.6% and from November 29th through December 3rd at 37%.

There are 158 people hospitalized with 93 from Lancaster county and 65 from other communities.  Eleven patients are on ventilators.

 Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, repeated shaking with chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.  If you have symptoms, please get tested.  Testing is now open to all Lancaster County residents by appointment only.
