Lincoln – Lancaster County COVID-19 Risk Dial Remains In Red

The Lincoln – Lancaster County COVID-19 Risk Dial remains in the Red, or severe risk of spread for week six.  There are three more deaths in Lancaster County Friday bringing the total number to 118.   The deaths included a man in his 60s who was hospitalized and two men in their 80s, one who was hospitalized and one who was in a long-term care facility.

There are 179 new cases new cases Friday bringing the community total  total to 19,645.  The positivity rate has declined to 26.7% for this week through December 11th compared to 33.9% for the week ending December 5th.

There are 116 people hospitalized as of Friday afternoon.

Health Director Pat Lopez says the first round of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine should arrive between Monday and Wednesday and vaccinations of health care personnel will start distribution to medical providers, nursing home staff and residents and designated other groups.  The state could receive up to 100,000 doses by the end of December that will be allocated by health officials.
