Lincoln Police were called to the 400 block of Fletcher Avenue at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15th after receiving a report that a vehicle window had been broken. An officer also found two more vehicles with broken windows.
In on case a 22 caliber rifle in a case was taken along with the victim’s wallet. The victim reported the vehicle was locked and the rifel was hidden from sight. One victim reported nothing taken and the other said their wallet was gone.
At 2:30 a.m., officers were called to 64th and Whitewater after a neighbor reported hearing a loud bank and then saw a man inside a vehicle. The man was seen getting into a different vehicle and leaving the area. At that location officers found two vehicles had their windows broken. Items taken included stereo equipment.
In total, eight victims reported their vehicles were broken into overnight with various items stolen from them in the northwest area of town. We are grateful for those citizens who called police when they observed something suspicious so that we could respond to the area. Officers canvassed the area and are requesting neighbors check their security videos in search of potential evidence.
