The civil rights leader was born in 1929 and died in 1968 at the hand of an assassin in Memphis.

The Virtual MLK Jr. Youth Rally and March Virtual pre-rally is 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The “Call to Action” program will be from 10-11 a.m. . The rally and march will be livestreamed on the LNKTV Education website, LNKTV’s YouTube Channel and LNKTV Facebook.
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s MLK Week celebration will feature a moderated conversation with Dr. Bernice A. King, daughter of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King.
The university will honor the legacy of the iconic civil rights leader with a series of events Jan. 25-29. This year’s theme is “Continue to speak out against all forms of injustice to yourselves and others, and you will set a mighty example for your children and for future generations.” The celebration will offer events for students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the Lincoln community.
