A man reports being beaten by multiple people after his phone is stolen by a friend.
Lincoln Police Officer Luke Bonkiewicz says officers were called to a home in the 1300 block of North Cotner around 7:30 am Monday on reports of an assault.
They made contact with a 36-year-old man who said the home belonged to a female friend of his who stole his phone while he was sleeping on the floor earlier in the night.
“Now when he confronted the female in the living room, another person told him to leave that female alone,” said Bonkiewicz. “When our victim persisted in confronting this female, an unknown person smashed him in the head with a bottle, while another male started punching him in the head.”
The suspects, including the female, fled the scene after the beating.
An investigation is ongoing.
